Well, I have been working on my layouts and sketch for my Guest DT spot next month at My Creative Scrapbook - such a fun kit - can't wait to show everyone!! I was really happy with my sketch sample for 52 Sketches 52 Weeks - I had been sitting on these Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers for a while but loved them once I got scrapping :) I think I might submit it to the Basic Grey gallery & see what happens - you never know :)
I'm always looking for new scrapbook companies and found this one recently while surfing the web - Marks Paper Company. Their papers are beautiful - definitely check them out!!!
Bella Blvd. recently ran a giveaway of one of their new lines & I won - new goodies will be on their way to me - can't wait out check them out in person!!
Here's a little You Tube love for you - I Love the Rain the Most by Joe Purdy
Hello - okay - I haven't kept up with my initial statement of blogging 3 times a week - but I'll get back on the wagon - I promise :) The last 2 weeks have been a bit crazy - just launched my new online community for 52 Sketches 52 Weeks - it has been such a great success so far - it is really exciting. We had almost 90 entries for the first sketch - WOW!! It is so neat to see everyone's take on the sketch :) I also took Ryan to his first class today - it was only for an hour but it was his first time without me there with him. I'm not going to lie - I peeked in the window 4 times - I couldn't help it. Of course all the kids are seated nicely except my son who was running around the room - he's still the sweetest boy I know though :) I applied tonight for Bella Blvd.'s Bella Artista call - fingers crossed - here is the layout I made using their papers. All the design around the scalloped paper was hand-drawn & I dotted the letters that appear polka-dotted - it took forever but I like the effect of both. Also, I know it is usually "I love you to the moon and back" but I saw this title used on a layout in a magazine & thought it was perfect with this cloud paper :)
Well I promise to blog again this weekend - I'll leave you with a little tune - silly puppets but love this group :)
Welcome 2009!!! Alright I am trying to start off on a good foot with the blogging - I was so good at the beginning of last year . . . we'll see :) Justin & I just got back from OC - we spent New Year's there with Ryan. We went out last night & left Ryan with his first non-family babysitter (Justin's bosses' daughter). It was liberating to say the least :) My parents watch him whenever we need it but there is a slight guilt factor there - I don't know why . . . they LOVE him to pieces - I just know he can be a lot of work - he's two and busy, busy, busy.
So a new year means new goals - right? Well here's my top 5:
#1 Spend more quality time with my family - go places together, work on our house (declutter), have meaningful conversations, play Skip Bo with my husband (I always win the first round), watch movies, teach Ryan how to swim . . . hmmm . . .
#2 Lose the 25 lbs. I'm still carrying around from the baby weight. I didn't struggle as much with the weight from Ryan - I was so motivated. But this time - with all the circumstances surrounding the loss of the baby - we'll the motivation has not been there (it doesn't help that I'm an emotional eater either).
#3 LEARN PHOTOSHOP!!! It is pathetic - I have had it since last May but still don't know how to use it. I did recently buy a book to help me - we'll see.
#4 Organize my photos in some kind of meaningful way - they are all on my desktop - I don't know what I have - a mess!!!
#5 Get on the design team for a scrapbook supply manufacturer - a dream . . .
I've never done the Ali Edward's one little word thing but I think this year I will - my word - balance - I've lost sense of it at times - it is difficult to do everything I want to at this point in my life - I need to find a way to balance my family, friends, and my own personal goals. So balance is the word for this year . . .
I was asked to be a Guest Designer for My Creative Scrapbook again in February - so exciting & flattering!! Their DT is so AWESOME & TALENTED!!
I will leave you with an adorable video & song - it makes me happy!!!
